spicy mince and potato curry! the" easy way"


This recipe is a hot favorite in my country , over here its known as ALOO KEEMA (Aloo means potatoes and keema means mince meat) .Today i am going to share an easy version of this recipe with you all , it takes only 30 minutes to prepare .

INGREDIENTS
  1. potatoes.............................................. 1 large
  2. onions.................................................. 1 medium sized finely chopped
  3. tomatoes..............................................3 medium sized finely chopped
  4. garlic ....................................................3 cloves crushed
  5. beef /mutton or chicken mince..............one quater KG
  6. oil........................................................1/3 cup
  7. salt......................................................according to tase
  8. coriander powder ...............................half tea spoon
  9. red chili powder ..................................half tea spoon
  10. turmeric powder..................................half tea spoon
  11. black pepper whole .............................6 to 8
  12. green chilies .........................................1 finely chopped
  13. water......................................................one glass
  14. green fresh coriander for garnishing


METHOD




1.First of all peal and cube the potatoes.




2. Add oil and finely chopped onions in a pan and stir fry them on medium heat until golden brown.




3.Now add mince and tomatoes and all the spices except the fresh coriander leaves , cook for 5 minutes on medium heat ,while cooking stir the spoon continuously and break the lumps of mince if any are formed .



4. Add potatoes and again cook for five minutes on medium heat u can add 2 to three table spoon of water while cooking if the curry gets too dry .

5 .Add one glass of water in the end ,cover with lid and let it cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.

6 . Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with pita bread or boiled rice .....

  11. This looks good too! I love that you use fresh tomatoes in your dishes, it's yummy! :) This one i can surely substitute with soy mince. You think one can use red chili flakes instead of a green chili? Or is a green chili much too different from red chili?
