festive dresses for girls part 3

Another idea for a simple and quick dress with a festive look

Its a simple smocked dress with ruffles at the bottem and ribbon ties at shoulders.

The smocking at the body is created by using elastic thread in Bobbin and normal cotten thread in needle of sowing machine.

Once the smocking was ready ribbons on shoulders were added and shiny sliver ribbon flowers were hand stitched .You may also use beads or some other sequences .
That's it a cute festive dress is ready in just one hour.

bad luck such good posing and a totally out of control camera :(

Tip:
to creat the smock always hand wind the elastic thread on the bobbin reel with medium tension
(not too loose and not too tight either )you might also have loosen up the tention of the bobbin too .

  1. This is so cute! You make smocking look so easy! I usually struggle with the tension in the bobbin for some reason?? What an adorable little girl! It seems like she loves her dress!

  4. Super cute dress! I wish I could "smock" or "shir" on my machine... apparently Brother machines don't allow this to happen (well you can but you would need to take a part your whole machine)> LOVE the fabric too!
