festive dresses for girls part 3
Another idea for a simple and quick dress with a festive look

Its a simple smocked dress with ruffles at the bottem and ribbon ties at shoulders.

The smocking at the body is created by using elastic thread in Bobbin and normal cotten thread in needle of sowing machine.

Once the smocking was ready ribbons on shoulders were added and shiny sliver ribbon flowers were hand stitched .You may also use beads or some other sequences .
That's it a cute festive dress is ready in just one hour.
bad luck such good posing and a totally out of control camera :(
Tip:
to creat the smock always hand wind the elastic thread on the bobbin reel with medium tension
(not too loose and not too tight either )you might also have loosen up the tention of the bobbin too .

Festive dresses for little girls part 2
Sorry for delay ,but the good thing is that we still have 13 days left in Eid ,hears an other simple dress embellished with laces pleated ruffles and golden iron on sequences.
frontthe front has a separate body attached to a pleated lower with ruffles on the arm holes and bottom of the dress.
backthe back is plain with a separate body and a A line lower part.

the lace seen on the belt area and on the middle of the body was first stitched on a black ribbon and the it was sewn on the frock ,3 ready made silver ribbon flowers are placed in the middle of the false button placket

golden iron on Sequences are placed in the middle of the polka dots only on the body area .
i made this dress in about 4 hours the real time consuming task was pleating the ruffles but i am very happy with the end result, what do you think ?

Festive dresses for little girls part .1
Eid UL AZHA (a festive occasion for Muslims )is approaching ,so i decided to give you all some ideas of how to give a festive look to a simple dress at home your self ,the sequences , shiny ribbons and laces used are very easily available in Pakistan but i am sure that there must be some craft stores or shops where these things would be available in your area too .
This is a very simple and basic frock with a front button placket .A fine shocking pink silk fabric is used .Its embellished with golden , green and red Gota strip (a kind of shiny ribbon)Gota flowers and mirrors.

A close up of the neck line ,this is all hand work done with needle and thread.
this is the back side of the frock ,a simple running stitch is used to attach the gotta strips and flowers, the mirrors in the center of the flowers are hot glued.
Although the flowers and petals used on this frock are purchased ready made from the market but you can make them your self too by simply stitching one side of a ribbon or gota with running stitch and the pull the thread to make a flower .
Following are the pictures from one of my older tutorials in which the same technique is used to make ribbon flowers

cut off the access ribbon and secure both the ends with needle and thread and then you can hot glue a small round mirror in the center .
A line of tussle lace is attached to the frock in the waste line .
the same zigzag pattern with flowers and petals is repeated on the bottom too.
This dress took only two hours to complete but the satisfaction i got by the look of the glowing and happy face of my daughter dressed in it was enormous .
Stay tuned for another beautiful festive dress in PART 2.

A little bit of sewing for my self
Good day friends i know its been a long time i haven't added any post to my blog ,my apologies for this neglect towards my blog actually little Faareen has stared going to school because of which i was a bit too busy but now she is almost used to to the routine so i am also back with you guys .Yesterday i had some free time when both the kids were gone to school so i decided to finish a long time pending project , "I wanted to make a BUTTER CUP bag for my self "here's the final result.
cute isn't it i just love the way it turned out ,thanks to" Rae " who is generous enough to give a free PDF pattern for the bag in her web site,to go to her full tutorial and get the free PDF pattren click hear.there are a few changes i made in the bag:
- i increased the size of the original pattern as it was too small for my needs ,how i did it ? well pretty easy i took a print out of the original pattern and then enlarged the image by a photo copy machine ,Clever isn't it ! :)
- instead of a magnetic button i added a zipper in the lining , as i always feel more safe with the zippers .

- Instead of adding decorative buttons in the mid of the top strip ,i hand stitched a huge rose bud made with the same fabric.I just doubled a long strip of the fabric and folded it into a rose shape and added a sky blue bead in the middle ,you can learn to make a rose bud by reading this tutorial

- As i increased the size of the bag , i knew it that it will have a floppy look ,to avoid this i added a very thin sheet of foam between the lining and the outer fabric to get a more padded and stiff look.

A line Tunic patren tutorial
Its a pretty simple and easy draft specially great for the beginners.Thats what you will do.
First of all trace the out line of some sleeve less T-shirt of your kid that fits him the best add the desired length to it .

now add five 4 to 6 inches on each side at bottom then join this point with the lower end of arm hole look at the red line.
now rub off the straight lines and your super easy A-line tunic pattern in ready.
These are the two dresses that i made using the same pattren.

in this dress i just added some ruffles on the arm holes, neck line and on bottom .
Very soon you will get to see full step by step tutorials on both of these dresses until then !take care and happy crafting .

treating a broken leg of birds
Last month on my birthday thats the gift i received from my hubby aren't they gorgeous ,what a beautiful gift .My husband knows that i just love pets so he got this pair of geese for me .When hubby went to collect them from the owner one of the geese went through a horrible accident, in the attempt to catch them the female goose ran out of the house on the road and a car drove over her leg so she arrived with a broken leg to my home i was both happy and sad at the same time ,what i did was that i placed her leg between 2 ice cream sticks and fixed them around her leg with sticking tape ,gave her some antibiotics and amazingly with in a month she is all OK as you can see in the pictures
enjoying a romantic walk in our back yard
